Wegovy Week 13 - A Recap Of The Year

Image
Hello everyone So, here we are on week 52 and what a journey! I really didn't think I'd lose so much weight in a year. If you’d told me back then that I’d still be writing about this journey twelve months later and that I’d be nearly unrecognisable, I’d have laughed, probably while eating a cake. Yet here I am, a year older, a lot lighter, and with a story that’s been far more dramatic, hilarious, frustrating and life‑changing than I originally expected. I wanted to use this final blog to look back on the highs, the lows, and the major milestones that shaped this year. And what a year it’s been. I started this journey with a mixture of excitement and trepidation. I’d never injected myself before and the idea of sticking a needle into my skin was very scary. Luckily, I had someone to help me the first time and I also had SheMed to help me through it. After a few weeks, I was injecting like a pro, although I did have a couple of mishaps in the first couple of weeks! The early wee...

Wegovy Week 12 - The End Is Nigh

Hey Peeps  Well, I went back to work on Monday, which means I’m officially back into my normal routine and my usual eating pattern. Christmas already feels like a very distant memory. The return to everyday life also means something else: I’m now very close to the one‑year mark since taking my first ever weight‑loss injection. It’s strange to think how quickly the year has passed and how much has changed in that time. Sadly, next week will be my final blog, but my plan is to look back on the whole journey and reflect on everything I’ve learned. For now, though, I want to focus on the year ahead and what I’m hoping for. When I first started this journey, I would have been absolutely thrilled to lose around three and a half stone. That would have taken me to roughly 13 stone 7 lbs—my personal “comfortable” weight, where my joints stop complaining quite so loudly and I generally feel reasonably fit-ish. Of course, I ended up surpassing that target, something I never imagined at the be...

Wegovy Week 10 & 11 - Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! Well, I’ve had an incredibly busy and truly fabulous Christmas this year, and now that the decorations are coming down and the last of the leftovers are disappearing, I’ve finally had a moment to sit and reflect on it all. I hope you also had a wonderful time with your loved ones and that Father Christmas brought you something lovely. He certainly treated me well — I got a bread maker, which I’m thrilled with. It might not seem like the sort of present anyone would want, but honestly, it's great that I'll never have to buy an ultra‑processed loaf again. I’ve already made a couple of loaves and the smell of fresh bread filling the house is lovely. One of the biggest highlights of the festive season, though, had nothing to do with presents or food. On Christmas Eve, I actually hit my target of a 5‑stone loss. I’d been inching closer for weeks, but with the study coming to an end, I was beginning to think I might not quite make it in time. So when I finally stepped...
