My Mounjaro JourneyWeek 34 - The End Of Mounjaro

Image
Hello Everyone Well, here we are—the end of my Mounjaro journey. Not quite how I expected it to end and I actually feel a bit sad about it. It’s strange how I've come to rely on it. Mounjaro isn’t just a medication—it's been life changing. It's helped me control my eating and quietened the food noise. So yes, I’m grieving a little. Not just the end of a drug, but the end of a chapter. I'm a bit apprehensive about the change. There are mixed reviews amongst the SheMed community from people who have already made the switch. Some have had really good suppression but some have done nothing but eat. The only positive is that no one appears to be suffering from severe side effects. I’m heading off on holiday for two weeks, so there’ll be a break before I return with my new blog, predictably entitled “My Wegovy Journey” unless I can come up with something better. Sadly, I can’t change my name to Mrs Wegovy, but I don’t suppose that matters. Although if Wegovy works as well as ...

My Mounjaro Journey Week 33 - Eight Months Dry, Sixty Pounds Down, and Ready For Change

Hi All This is my penultimate blog about Mounjaro. After next week, I’ll be away on holiday in Spain for two weeks, and I don’t plan on taking my laptop with me. Trying to write a blog on a mobile takes way too long. I’m actually looking forward to packing my suitcase because I know I’m going to feel comfortable in everything I take. I've bought some new swimming costumes as my old ones where too big round my bum. I got them from Vinted for a couple of quid each. If you haven't ever used it, I'd recommend buying and selling on the app. I can't wait to wear them around the pool. I’ve now been alcohol-free for 245 days, which is eight months. That’s about 77,000 unconsumed calories—equivalent to over 38 days’ worth of food I haven’t eaten. That is mad! It also works out at about £900 saved by not buying wine, which has more than paid for my Mounjaro. And that’s not even counting all the takeaways I might have bought over the last 33 weeks, at between £10 and £20 a time....

My Mounjaro Journey Week 32 - Changing Seasons, Changing Me

Hi Peeps Hopefully, we all now have a clearer idea of where we stand with the price increase and aren’t feeling quite so anxious. Eli Lilly certainly hasn’t made things easier with the way they’ve handled the situation. It would’ve made far more sense to inform pharmacies ahead of their announcement, rather than releasing a blanket statement that caused widespread panic. As it turns out, the increase isn’t as steep as initially feared—but that’s little consolation for many, especially those already juggling costs and supply issues. I’ve just had the first jab of my final 7.5mg pen. I’d really hoped to move up to 10mg this month, but with the switch to Wegovy in four weeks, it might be for the best. Since I’m currently on 7.5mg, I expect to be placed on 0.5mg of Wegovy. Had I moved up to 10mg, I’d likely be bumped to 1mg of Wegovy, which could bring on more severe side effects. So, in a way, the delay might be a blessing in disguise—though it doesn’t feel like it when you’re trying to s...
