Wegovy Week 7 - Party Time!

Hi all

I was genuinely concerned that after a week working away, I’d step on the scales and see a gain. So, with great trepidation, I weighed myself this week and… I lost one and a half pounds! Maybe I need to work away more often. That means I’ve actually lost more weight on Wegovy than I managed in the last four weeks on Mounjaro.

This week I moved up to 1.7 mg, and it’s definitely hitting the spot. I’m struggling to finish meals and sometimes don’t want anything at all. That’s great news as we head into the festive period and party season, where chocolates and mince pies seem to appear everywhere. In fact, I’m writing this with a slight hangover, so I’ll try to keep it short and sweet!

Last night, I went to a party—a proper dinner dance. There were three courses: pâté, roast beef, and ice cream. I barely ate half of each course, but I did manage two glasses of prosecco and three glasses of wine. Hopefully, two hours of non-stop dancing burned off some of those calories. I can definitely feel it in my legs which are aching like mad.

This time last year, I attended a similar party, and a photo from that night was the turning point for me. I hadn’t realised how big I’d become, even though my clothes were getting larger and larger. No wonder my back and joints were constantly aching. That photo sparked my determination to lose at least three stone in 2025. The comparison now is incredible—I'm wearing a size 22 shirt in first photo below and a size 16 dress in the other. It’s a reminder of how far I’ve come and I'm very proud of myself.

Next Tuesday brings another challenge: a full day of Christmas celebrations with my workmates. It starts with a breakfast meeting featuring bacon and sausage butties, followed by lunch at Las Iguanas, and then an afternoon and evening of cocktails. I have serious doubts about Wednesday morning’s weigh-in, but it’s important to remember that life is for living—and Christmas is all about enjoying time with friends and family, which usually involves eating and drinking.

On a positive note, my company has just signed up to Gymflex, which means I can get a 40% discount at my local gym, with payment taken directly from my salary. My membership starts on 1st January 2026 and I fully intend to take advantage of it and go regularly. It feels like the perfect way to kick off the new year and keep the momentum going.

Another positive is that I seem to have sorted my constipation problem. I bought a bottle of Syrup of Figs and have been taking it nightly and I also bought some Fybogel but, I'll be honest, it's like swallowing frogspawn. I've been taking fibre capsules with meals and this three pronged attack has led to much softer and regular stools. Hurrah!

So, this weeks stats:

Weight - 11st 12lb
BMI - 31.5
Total weight loss since 6th Jan 2025 - 4 stone 12lbs
Total Wegovy loss - 4.5lb
Wegovy dose - 1.7mg
Total weight loss on Mounjaro - 3 stone 12.5lbs

I went to St Mary's stadium on Tuesday night to watch our Lionesses take on Ghana in a friendly. England rounded off the year with a 2-0 victory against a very defensive side. I was hoping for more after the previous  8-0  drubbing of China but, a win is a win. Aston Villa midfielder Lucia Kendall opened the scoring in the sixth minute with her first senior international goal, a special moment in her hometown of Southampton. Despite England dominating and hitting the woodwork several times, the second goal didn’t come until stoppage time when Alessia Russo converted a penalty in the 95th minute to seal the win. It was very entertaining and I especially enjoyed the crowd chanting "V A R" in time to the drum when the referee was checking the monitor.

And on that note, I'll bid you adieu x
