My Mounjaro Journey Week 27 - Big Winners And Big Losers

Hello Peeps

Sorry, I know this blog is supposed to be about weight loss, but I have to start with the Women's Euros final because... ENGLAND ARE BACK-TO-BACK EUROPEAN CHAMPIONS! And I couldn’t be happier. It was another match where England came from behind, took it to extra time, and ended with a nerve-wracking penalty shootout. Hannah Hampton saved two penalties—one from the best footballer in the world—and Chloe Kelly smashed the ball into the back of the net to take the title. Magic.

I was gutted I couldn’t get up to London for the celebration on The Mall, but at least it was on at lunchtime so I got to watch it during my break. I bought all the daily papers to keep for posterity and ordered myself the Nike T-shirt the players wore on the bus. It’s really got me buzzing for the new Women’s Super League season.

I went to Brighton on Wednesday and visited the Sea Life Centre. I’d definitely recommend it. I know not everyone agrees with keeping wildlife in captivity, and it’s impossible to know if the animals are content, but it’s probably the closest you’ll get to these amazing creatures without deep sea diving. We went on a glass-bottomed boat and watched giant turtles and sharks swim right beneath us. We walked through a glass tunnel with fish swimming all around and even got to hold shark eggs. There were clownfish, rays, seahorses, jellyfish, octopus, and turtles. Magic.

The best part, though, was getting photos taken on the way in. They superimposed us onto fishy backgrounds, and I didn’t hate myself in them! I actually looked nice—so I bought a photo and a keyring. Afterwards we headed to the pier for fish and chips. I barely managed half of mine but still had room for a Mr Whippy.

We ended the day throwing stones into the sea and walking along the promenade. It really was a lovely day. There’s so much to do in Brighton—a day just isn’t enough.
I’ve had a really good loss this week, but I’m not sure why. I haven’t done anything different, although I skipped dinner a couple of times after big lunches. I didn’t feel like eating later on. Wonder if I’ll pay for that next week?

One thing Mounjaro has given me is a proper food routine. I eat three times a day and rarely snack. I don’t really think about food at all, even towards the end of the week. It feels so natural now—I can’t quite remember what it was like to constantly think about eating.

The one downside to losing weight for me is clothes shopping. I hate it. Being short and overweight is a double whammy. Still, I’ll have to bite the bullet—my jeans are looking baggy and keep sliding down. I seem to be between sizes at the moment, which doesn’t help. I’m buying two of everything to see what fits best—but what a great problem to have.

So, this weeks stats:

Weight  - 12st 11lb
Mounjaro dose - 7.5mg
BMI - 33.8
Total loss - 3 stone 4lbs

SheMed asked me whether I wanted to go up to 10mg or stick with 7.5mg.  I've decided to stay on 7.5mg as it's still working.  I don't see the point in going up if I don't need to.  Lots of people seem to have bad side effects on 10mg and I haven't really had side effects since the last week of 2.5mg.  Fingers crossed I've made the right decision.

See ya x
