My Mounjaro Journey Week 13 - Time Off
Hello
I've been away for Easter and decided I would let my hair down and give the healthy eating a break. I've eaten pretty much what I've wanted and most of it has been snacks and chocolate. There's been the obligatory pasty (yes, I'm in Cornwall), fish and chips and ice cream. But, despite what I said in my previous blog, about not having as much suppression as before, it turns out that I've just got used to how I feel about food. What I mean is, I haven't eaten all of my Easter chocolate within a couple of days and when I've had snacks, for example crisps, I've only eaten a small amount rather than the whole bag. Today I had a child's portion of fish and chips at the seaside but still only managed to eat half. I had a Mr Whippy but gave most of it to a seagull (deliberately, he didn't swoop in and steal it).
I had planned on having a few drinks whilst I was away but I really haven't wanted any. I bought a bottle of Nosecco, which was actually very nice, as well as the low alcohol cider I mentioned in my last blog and I haven't felt like I've missed out at all.
I haven't bothered calorie counting whilst I've been away. Partly because I'm on holiday and don't want to and partly because it's more difficult when I'm not eating three meals a day at specific times. I know it will show on the scales next time I weigh myself but I also know that Mounjaro will get me back on track once I get home. In the past, eating too much whilst on holiday has practically undone all the hard work I'd previously put in because I found it impossible to regain my willpower, but I know it's going to be different this time,
One issue I have had this week is the check-in. The clinical study I'm on with SheMed requires that I speak to someone every week. During the call, I weigh myself and show them the reading on the scales. They check what dose I'm on and then I inject. I brought my scales and medication with me so that I could check in as usual. On the day, I got everything ready and tried to get onto the app but it wasn't working. I went out for the day and tried again in the evening. This time it seemed to be working except no one answered the call. I tried another five times over the course of the evening but the calls all went unanswered. This has never happened before so I have to assume it was a connection issue. I sent SheMed an email instead and hope it doesn't count as a black mark against me.
As I mentioned before, I've decided to sign up to a walking challenge in May. I'm raising money for charity which will ensure that I actually do it. I'll be walking 100 miles in 31 days and I've downloaded MapMyWalk so that I can keep track of my progress and upload every walk onto my social media accounts. That way my friends and family will be able to see how I'm getting on. I need to do 3.2 miles a day so that's another goal to keep you updated with.
But for now:
Weight - 14st 6lbs
Mounjaro dose - 5mg
BMI - 38.2
Total loss - 1 stone 9lbs
Mounjaro dose - 5mg

Total loss - 1 stone 9lbs
I mentioned quite a few weeks ago that I'd already started dieting prior to starting Mounjaro and I've actually lost 2 stone 4 lbs since the beginning of January. I can already fit into clothes that I haven't worn in years and I feel so much better in general. I think I look better too which is a real confidence boost. However, after this week. I suspect we'll be taking a look at NSV's next week (non-scale victories).
Until then. Ta ta x
