My Mounjaro Journey Week 4 - Oh Poo!

Hi everyone  I've just had my worse week on the treatment.  I injected my right thigh this week; I've really got the hang of it now. It was my last 2.5mg and, anyone who's been reading my blog will know that I've been pretty much side effect free.  Well, that all changed this time. I was fine for the first 24 hours but I woke up two days after the injection with diarrhoea. After using the loo I felt fine so off I went to work.  Around 10am my stomach started making horrendous noises quickly followed by the need to get to the toilet.  Now, many women will know what I mean when I say I don't do number two's anywhere but in the privacy of my own home.  In 15 years of working at my office, I've used the toilet for defecating only once.  The only time I would ever do it is if the choice is doing it at work or in my pants; I'd rather have stomach ache and wait until I get home.  Yes, I know that's ridiculous but it's just the way it is. Anyway, this wa...

My Mounjaro Journey Week 3 - Move More

Hi everyone You'll be pleased to hear that, after my disastrous attempt at injecting myself last week, I did a bang up job this time.  I injected the left side of my stomach and I made sure that I held the primed pen in a way that ensured no slips. The reason for rotating injection sites is to stop you getting lumps under your skin. I've had hardly any side effects at all this week, save a bit of constipation, which I've taken tablets for.  I used the ones supplied by SheMed and they've done the trick. I mentioned before that I'm prediabetic and, apparently, some of the worse things for causing sugar spikes is white bread, white rice and white pasta, so I'm only eating wholemeal.  This is, hopefully, keeping my bowels moving as well as keeping my sugar levels stable.  Too much?  Okay, let's talk about my appetite instead.. As I said last week, I'm not getting full suppression but it's mostly enough to stop me from snacking.  I'm consuming around...

My Mounjaro Journey Week 2 - Calorie Counting Is Good

Hi everyone. Part of the programme I've signed up to means that I have to check in weekly with the SheMed team.  This is on the day of the injection.  I have to confirm my details and the dosage I'm on before weighing myself and showing the reading of the scales to the person on the end of the phone. This time they talked me through prepping the pen and left me to it. What a disaster. It's recommended that you inject a different site each week so I decided on my my thigh for this one.  Heavens knows why but I thought I'd do it standing up.  As I explained in my last blog, you have to twist the bottom of the pen until the number '1' appears in the little window.  This pushes the bottom of the pen out to about two centimetres which is the part you push down to release the dose. It's quite tricky holding the pen with your thumb on the 'plunger' whilst pinching your skin. As I pushed down, my thumb slipped so I ended up letting go of my skin and using bo...
